Original first pressing. Red/black six-eye deep-groove labels; the runout carries none of the TA / P / H plant suffixes of the later Terre Haute, Pitman and Hollywood repressings, placing it among the earliest New York-plant stampers. No promo or club markings.
Fidelity
Mastered from the original Columbia tapes for the first six-eye mono pressing. Columbia's late-1950s New York pressings are prized for quiet vinyl and a warm, present mono — original six-eyes rate consistently above the later 360 Sound reissues.
The Album
Pairs the improvised Paris score for Louis Malle's Ascenseur pour l'échafaud (Dec 1957) with three New York standards (May 1958) — the first studio meeting of Davis and Bill Evans, caught at the hinge just before Kind of Blue.
